Press Release

SCH Build has proudly received the Richmond Society’s construction award for projects, and is among the few companies that have been nominated twice. Having previously won awards for other Richmond refurbishments, such as Lissoy House in Ormond Road, the latest award was for a new build project at 71 Mount Ararat Road – a four-storey building of 3,000 square feet, designed, built and finished to fit in with its Victorian surroundings. This unique property, formerly a 1960s house on a bomb site, was derelict before being redeveloped to its original splendour.

"We saw the potential in bringing this property back to life and the house, being positioned by Richmond Bridge, now benefits from a new lease of life. We were also nominated for a riverside development in Richmond, which is now known as the Gaucho restaurant. This project was constructed during the winter months and whilst building, we were often subject to the River Thames flooding, which made things rather difficult as you can imagine! However, with the skills of our management and the advice of our engineers, we completed the project on time and within budget."
